A Loop is one of the few maneuvers that does not alter an aircraft's direction, and is the only such maneuver that decreases an aircraft's odds of being hit. An aircraft performing a Loop exits the maneuver at maximum speed.
Loop is another largely useless maneuver to players. Enemy planes react instantaneously to players' actions, and will frequently Airbrake or decelerate to stall speed if the player performs a Loop in an attempt to get behind an enemy craft. In addition, the high exit speed means that if the maneuver does place the player behind an enemy, it is a temporary situation. This maneuver's only possible use is to maintain arc coverage of a specific area, a tactic that is best employed by planes with wide arcs or wide arc angles, such as the Avenger, Havoc, or Valkyrie.
