[edit] wikicode?
Wow. Someone who actually seems to know some wikicode. Very nice. Thanks for the help! --Calvin November t/c on 06:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- I was looking over http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Resources_for_collaboration and think the Skybrary may benefit from a few of the templates such as, maybe, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Cleancat, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Uncategorized, and, especially, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Cleanup. Would you have any interest in transposing any of these over to the Skybrary? --Calvin November t/c on 01:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, I wonder if any of these are buried somewhere within Wikia already. --Calvin November t/c on 01:09, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Protection question
Hmm, wasn't sure what the issue was with The Last Tortugan Skyrate that it needed to be protected. Category:Lore and Fiction definitely needs to be cleaned up, seems like it is all jumbled. — MrDolomite • Talk 03:38, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- I generally would like to protect anything that is unique work, though, I'll admit, my attendance to that goal has been sorely lacking since I've gotten my account fixed. Other than that, you are right about the lore section. By and by, thank you for all the little points you've been helping us with (and as Calvin said, you know wikicode!). If you don't mind me asking, who are you? I've never seen a "Mr. Dolomite" on Skyrates. --Hans "Firefox" Raginhart 20:28, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, we've got a Wing called Skybrary Staff housed at Echo. Given the volume of work you've put into the Skybrary, you should sign-up! --Calvin November t/c on 15:54, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Stub-tastic
I was trying to organize some pages that needed some help into stubs, but after adding a few, I saw that the stub template already had a link to the category:stubs page. It says on the template for stubs that pages with the tag are supposed to be added to the stubs category, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
Should I add them manually with the category tag, or should the stubs template page be altered somehow to do it automatically? Thanks! - Cid O 17:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I also added the category stubS and added some pages to it. I'll go back and take out the category on these pages shortly and see if the stub template will take care of the problem once you've played around with it. -- Cid O! ·T· 21:46, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Editing the upgrades pages.
Hey there. I just did some updates on the upgrades page, and added some overview pages to the other kinds of mods, like you have done for the Engine Kit section, only I can't figure out how to get it to show up under "*" instead of alphabetically like the rest. Can you help out? Arturo Fox 20:23, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply, and for the information. I'll try to fix my entries later on today [edit: you've already done that...thanks again]. As for the difference, it is totally that I can't figure out how to delete a #$&^#$* page. ;) I moved your scratch page that was there and fixed it's formatting before I noticed that you'd already done it in a different entry, and then I couldn't figure out how to delete it. Feel free to revert out of my changes on that article, and/or tell me how to delete the blasted thing. Arturo Fox 11:50, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] transclusion?
- I could use some help transcluding content. Take a look at User:Calvin_November/Sandbox (or http://skyrates.wikia.com/index.php?title=User:Calvin_November/Sandbox&oldid=7812, as I've likely edited the page since posting this question). As I've done with the "Kingdom of Magnus" row, I'd like to transclude the contents (specifically, just the text) of the Kingdom of Magnus article without including the Template:HistorySeries or the Category:History. The only way I could find to do this is to use <noinclude></noinclude> wikicode on the "source" page (see my edit of the Kingdom of Magnus page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Transclusion and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Template_inclusion#Noinclude.2C_includeonly.2C_and_onlyinclude). That seems pretty clunky and could, in theory, break other things. Is there a way to transclude only text? --Calvin November t/c on 20:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Citizens
- Another transclusion question for ya. Regarding Kyra's post at http://skyrates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31757, is there a way to transclude the members of Category:Citizens into the list at Ribeira_Decimal_Cabinet#Player_Characters? --Calvin November t/c on 17:15, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image copywrite (springcat)
As I did the Springcat mugshot from public domain pics, it's copyright me, actually, but I'll post it PD so peeps can use it. I can;t see a spot to add that info to the file, tho... Springcat 16:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Re: copyright tags
Re: [[Image:TommySadisticaV2.JPG]] - Sure. Just let me know which one to use. - Lert 15:39, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I think we've talked about this before, but I'm not sure where "we landed the plane". Images such as Image:Mild's Veng model.gif and Image:Naes Draw mug.png aren't screenshots per se, they're more like derivative works. Which license should we be using with these? --Calvin November t/c on 15:18, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- RE: {{Screenshot+dw}}, looks great! A nice compromise. I've added it to MediaWiki:Licenses --Calvin November t/c on 20:08, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the tag tips. I'm confused as to which tag to pick if a friend drew it per my request, and I colored it? I was looking at the "by"" tags but I can't find the page that explains what they are. Thanks! 24.254.224.78 02:36, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, he drew it for me and said I could do whatever I wanted with it. Honestly, neither of us cares if someone "steals" the damned thing; it's just a drawing.
[edit] re: Unification Banner
Howdy! I'm brand new to wiki-foo and I am afraid that looking at the list of tags only made me more confused. The banner was made by FIREFOX as I attributed beneath it, and it is used with his permission. I asked his permission to place it on the wiki, and he granted it, but I am not sure how it fits under the various 'creative commons' and other choices in the templates you linked to me. [edit] Flags and hats
No problem. I had the flags sitting around from my Travelogue research, and figured they'd serve the purpose for the faction pages. I won't worry too much about the hat, since I'm not blue any more, either. --Eskay@Octavo 17:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
